History
Panacea Healthcare was established in 1977 as Auckland Nursing Bureau. Today, it is a leading professional healthcare service provider to clients in both the private and public sectors.
Panacea is a Greek word meaning 'the universal remedy' or 'the cure of all ills'. With over 30 years experience specialising in home care for the injured, elderly, sick and disabled in the Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, Panacea Healthcare truly lives up to its name.
Our growth and reputation can be attributed to our vision, our community focus, and our emphasis on providing quality service.
In 1998 we achieved ISO certification. In 2005 we attained certification to the Home and Community Sector Standards. Our Executive Director is actively involved in local and national industry and community representation and in the advocacy for mandatory national standards in the home healthcare sector..

Our Staff
We currently employ over 500 active field staff ranging from support workers though to registered nurses. We come from a broad range of ethnic backgrounds, languages and cultures with a wide range of skills and expertise.
We work hard to match the right people to the client and the situation. We adhere to strict recruitment and selection procedures. At least two verbal referee reports are conducted on each applicant. Police checks are a standard part of the recruitment process. We conduct structured interviewing to assess the skills, experience and attitude of the candidates.
We have established a training programmes that has been audited and has met the New Zealand Home and Community Support Sector Standards.
We give staff continuous feedback of their performance and regularly reassess their skills. We request and welcome written feedback from clients to assess the quality of care being provided and to identify issues of service delivery.
