Serious Injury
At Panacea, we listen, we hear and we care |
Most people will never have any idea what it takes for you to have an "every day life". At Panacea we listen, we hear and we care.
Panacea Healthcare is one of the largest ACC contracted providers of care and support to those living with the effect of serious injury. 75% of the home support that we provide is to people dealing with a serious injury of various kinds including spinal injuries and traumatic brain injuries.
All that experience means we've come to understand a great deal about what it takes. We know that one of the greatest challenges is having a team of caring, skilled support workers that you can depend on.

The goal is active participation for you / your whanau in all the decision making, development and delivery of care. The outcome we seek is for you to experience physical, mental and emotional health and have control over your own care.
Support can sometimes start before you have been discharged from hospital. One of our registered nurses will work with you and your family to help build an individualised support plan that will deliver the best results for you.
From there, a team of support workers is formed who have the right skills to ensure that you are always supported effectively and safely. We encourage the participation of family / whanau in our specialist training and offer additional support from our team |

You will be appointed a Service Manager who becomes your key point of contact within Panacea. If any issues arise, you and your team know exactly who to contact for help. You are supported twenty four hours a day, seven days a week - our urgent services team is available for you outside normal working hours.
To those fantastic family members who commit to providing such loving care, we welcome the opportunity to support and assist you as you undertake this incredibly important role as primary caregivers.
You can trust that Panacea Healthcare can sort things out with you - simply, quickly and effectively.

If you are injured in an accident in New Zealand, you will generally be covered by ACC - although obviously ACC will determine whether or not you are eligible for any payments or support. When you first consult a health professional about your injury, they will register details about you and your injury with ACC. You will be allocated an ACC claim number. This number is most important to you because it is the link between you, ACC and any health professional from whom you may seek advice and support in regard to your injury. |

|
As well as helping to pay for your treatment, ACC may be able to provide other types of help. This depends upon your injury and personal circumstances. For more information visit www.acc.co.nz. If you have any questions you can call ACC on 0800 101 996. Have your claim number available so that ACC will be able to process your enquiry more speedily.
If you feel that you need help immediately, and there is a delay in ACC's ability to respond to you, then we are always able to provide support to you on a privately funded basis. Contact us for any information you may require and we will be happy to help.
If ACC do decide that you are eligible to receive support, then you are able to request Panacea as your provider.
ACC has also contracted Panacea Healthcare to provide in the home, nursing services that are required as a result of an injury. Services such as wound care, medication assistance and pain management require the skills and experience of one of our registered nurses.
If as a result of your injury, you are unable to take care of your child or children, and you have no family members who can undertake that care temporarily, then you can discuss with ACC the specific kinds of support that you may need. For instance it may not be possible for you to bathe and dress your children, or take them to school. If ACC agrees that you need support in this way, then Panacea has the support staff to assist you.
